Kevin Goins – Principal and Architect

As a degreed and licensed architect, Goins has over 20 years of architectural experience with nearly 15 years being devoted exclusively to church design. Goins has extensive experience in church master planning for both small and large churches with budgets ranging from $500K to $25M. Goins has developed master plans, produced construction drawings and performed construction administration for a multitude of churches all over the country. Goins’ heart for churches allows him to patiently work with the church to create designs that are a true reflection of the personality and mission of the church.

From Kevin:

Early in my career, I worked for a firm that designed everything from schools to hospitals.  This firm eventually decided to strictly design casinos, and I just didn’t feel that was my purpose in life!  Surely God had a greater reason for putting me on this earth.

After much soul searching, I strongly felt God calling me to design churches.  My wife’s first response was, “Are we going to starve?”  Fifteen years later, having not missed a meal, God has richly blessed my endeavors.  Working with churches has been freeing and frustrating, exciting and exhausting.  Through thick and thin, church design is my calling, my passion, and one of my life’s greatest joys!

I love to be used in expanding the Kingdom of God.  My work involves far more than producing a set of plans for a building.  Building plans come about only after the building of relationships in partnering with a church to do God’s work. In drawing alongside pastors who have led building projects, I’ve been privileged to make many life-long friends.  Praying for team members while going through a building project together can forge relationships that last for eternity.

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing the people of God worshiping and drawing closer to our Savior on the first service in a new facility!  I greatly enjoy walking through a new preschool wing and seeing the children learning about God. I love that what we are doing is of eternal significance. I am truly overwhelmed with gratitude that God has blessed me to play a small role in expanding His Kingdom!
